Local Bubble Battle

This could be subtitled how to extend your 15 minutes of fame......

There is a battle going on in near my home town between an anonymous bubblista critic of local real estate and local Realtors. Mostly from Shorewood Realtors one of L.A. Counties largest players.

The battle has raised enough attention to get the local paper to cover the story. The blogger claims he feels the need to be the town critic of all that is realty.

The blogger, who goes by MB Watcher, spends much of his time pointing out homes he believes are overvalued. He goes to walk-throughs anonymously, e-mails agents with questions and mines the Internet for data.

Jack Gillespie who by the way I think was selling long before I wore diapers said,

"People who do this kind of thing have nothing better to do," ... "To just prey on the real estate community, that's fine, but have the guts to stick your name out there and your number. To me, it's just a gutless act."

Ah... the anonymity of the net. The MB Watcher says he will come out of his anonymity at a time of his choosing. Thus furthering his (or maybe he is a she) mystique for an indefinite period of time.

Sounds like this blogger is doing them a service. They should put him on payroll. The internet is huge in the real estate business and sometimes old school and new school clash on that.

If the info is not true there should be no problem but if it is then be concerned.
