The Chicago real estate market is among the strongest in the country. Downtown, construction cranes are everywhere, building luxury Chicago condos . Trump International Hotel & Tower, Ritz Carlton On North Michigan Avenue, The Mandarin Oriental Tower and XO Condominiums are some of the more than 52 projects in pre-construction. The most significant development, The Chicago Spire just broke ground in August. At 150 stories, it will be the tallest building in North America. There will be about 1,300 condo units in the Spire which is scheduled to be ready in 2010.
I own rental property in chicago, and my friends and I always wonder why the market is so strong? Part of my answer inevitably involves the large network of suburbs and the fact that so many people are returning to the city. Any more insight?
