Important News About California Real Estate Agents

California Real Estate Commissioner Jeff Davi says the number of real estate agents in the state is beginning to falling....   At 541,000 licensees, California has more real estate agents than any other state - 1 in every 53 adults is licensed - but that number has declined from 2007 when there were 548,000 licensees.

That means in my neighborhood which has about 25 houses per block, that when I walk my dog I will bump into a Realtor every two blocks. Put another way, there is about 1 sale a year per blocks. So in the whole State of Cali, that leaves each agent one sales commission per block?

Randy Pausch past away today of complications from pancreatic cancer at age 47. Randy recently became famous for his "Last Lecture" when he talked to his students at Carnegie-Mellon after he learned that he only had months to live.He was diagnosed with incurable pancreatic cancer in September 2006. He gained world wide fame thru this Last Lecture. He appeared on Oprah and this video spread across the web as a lesson to achieve your dreams and enable the dreams of others.

Tony Robbins has asked that at the end of your days will you look back on a life well lived or a life of regret? Mr. Pausch does not look for sympathy here but he looks to inspire us to take action on our lives. To live.

Trump Breaks Mansion Record

Trump sells his mansion and breaks the record.

"I love breaking records," Trump said Wednesday, "and this is a record."

It's believed to be the most expensive single-family home ever sold in the United States.In true the Donald fashion he said: "At the same time, I believe the buyer made an absolutely fantastic deal, and time will prove this right," 

The mansion, at 515 N. County Road, was sold to an entity known as County Road Property LLC.  Apparently the dung business is good. Russian fertilizer billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev acknowledged last month that he is the buyer.

How Happy Are We? Number 16

As a follow up to my Debbie Downer piece. We actually are pretty happy people. Which based onsomewhat conflicting data like this we seem to be pretty confused and may I say tugged at.

We're number 16 ... in world happiness. Feel the joy. The United States ranks ahead of more than 80 countries, but below 15 others in happiness levels, according to new World Values Survey data released in the July issue of the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science.

The latest surveys, taken in the United States and in several developing countries, showed increased happiness from 1981 to 2007 in 45 of 52 countries for which substantial time series data was available.source

Americans grow happier as they grow older.

According to a University of Chicago study that is one of the most thorough examinations of happiness ever done in America.The study also found that baby boomers are not as content as other generations, African Americans are less happy than whites, men are less happy than women, happiness can rise and fall between eras, and that, with age the differences narrow.source
