Hey Tim.
Great podcast! And thanks for the mention of my web site on the 'cast.
A big AMEN to you and your philosophy on real estate marketing. You know, and hopefully due to your podcast, a lot more people now know, that we we share many of the same thoughts and rationales about the subject of allowing (or not) unfettered access to MLS data on agent and broker web sites.
REALTORS - Lock down your MLS IDX data!!!!
If you give it away for free (I don't mean you should charge money for it - just ask the user for an email address and phone number), you cheapen your service and become a commodity.
Being a commodity is a BAD thing if that commodity is being a real estate agent.
Don't give away your greatest asset - the MLS data! Don't listen to the so-called "experts" who have never sold a single piece of real estate in their lives.
"Oh - if you ask for an email address and phone number, people won't sign up for access to view homes," these 'experts' say, with such staunch pretend authority.
If someone tells you that you have to give away the data, they are full of crap and don't know what they are talking about. You can tell them I told you so.
I'm living, real life proof that it works, and it works extremely well.
OK.
I'm done now.

Hilton:
Use Internet Explorer if you are not already. Firefox has issues with the plug-in. It's a Flash player, so maybe Macromedia has a download available for FireFox and/or IE.

Great podcast!
Like you said there are too many agents who are only in the game for the short term an as such it smears the industry. Forward thinking is needed and the Internet is a big part of that.
I am about to echo some of your points over at my blog.
I also found firefox doesnt work, so you can only use IE.
