Google went black today in honor of energy savings. It admittedly recognized that turning the monitor black does not save any energy, but it is supposed to make us aware of Earth Hour. Whereby several cities across the world are turning off the lights tonight.
On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Earth Hour invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone. On this day, cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Dubai, and Tel Aviv, will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation.
Why not buck the trend it makes them noticeable.

This was a good time. I went at my local pub here in San Francisco. The sun was coming down, there were candles, we sang songs...I'm kidding. But t did make for a cool evening. I think it should be done once a month.
