We all know that targeting a niche is the best way to market. Mostly that you would speak to a plumber differently than a computer programmer.
So I thought it fun to come up with some real estate niches off the top of my head.
- Millionaire Matchmaker ( inspired by the TV show)
- Ocean Front/Lake Front Property
- New Homebuyer
- 1031 Exchange Specialist
- Harbor Club Specialist
- Country Club Specialist
- Celebrity Specialist
- Singles
- Gay
- Religion (ooh, that would be tuff eh?)
- Dog Lovers
- Horse Property
- Green Movement/Eco Friendly
- Nudist Colony
HUH!!!??
Yep, according to WSJ this is a rip roaring business.
An agent in the Tampa, Fla., area focuses on non clothing buyers and sellers. Her slogan: “Skip the outfit, wear the lifestyle.”
This reminds me of a story that happened to me in College. I had to do a report that took me to a San Francisco Art Gallery. My fellow football teammate Eduardo volunteered to be my guide as he knew the City backwards and forwards.
We did the gallery tour which was a blast (seriously, I love that kind of stuff). And, then when we walked outside I found that the gallery sat right near some bluffs that overlooked the Ocean. We both noticed a well worn path that welcomed us down towards the beach.
Now picture two strapping young footballers in the Prime of their youth edging down the path. It was not long that we noticed many sunbathers which was odd since it hardly Spring.
A couple more steps down the slope and we noticed several eyes, mens eyes burning holes thru our outerwear. It was then we noticed this to be a clothing optional beach. An I do mean optional! And being San Francisco, the propensity of Male sunworshippers only made sense.
We made a quick exit and had a story that I still tell some 20 years later. :-)
Its definitely important to find a niche.. Big piece in cornering a market is letting people know what you stand for.. Great advice
