There is an ongoing major attack on Word Press blogs by the (in my best GWB voice)"Evil Doers" overseas.
Not to make light of the severity of this but they are evil. I won't go too much into the background of this attack other than to say it is coming to your Word Press site if it hasn't already.
In particular it is coming at cache programs. These are plug ins that allow for your site to be faster loading and something that is huge to comply with the Google Caffeine for SEO.
Again I am trying not to write this from a technicians point of view but yours perhaps and someone too busy to worry about just one more thing. But this thing could take your site down. Or have it sending out nastys. So be aware. But also know that this is not some isolated event. It can happen often.
Thus learn to update your themes and elements and Word Press itself to stay up with not just the security side of things but also the functionality of the software.
This is where Word Press will ask you to update.
Go here to get the low down and here on specifics on the current attack.
Oops...Looks like I was late updating my plug ins over at Socialized SEO.
The nest step is to use a good security plug in. There are free and paid. I won't make any recommendations but get something. These tend to get technical. I would not do this stuff unless you have the chops to mess with server settings.
Backups are an important piece also. Make sure your host has access to backups. Also there are backup plugins and even an export in Word Press that allows you to export out your text.
We do provide analysis of server set ups as well as your over all site anaysis for traffic and conversions.
That is available here
